It was a unique opportunity for Lumina Group to be appointed to collaborate in refurbishment of historical building in old town of Jakarta. The art deco / colonial style building is transformed into Mercure Batavia Hotel.
No major changes is made in the façade, hence the lighting design approach is just as necessary to keep the original feel and minimising damage to the original structure. Interior design is a complete makeover, so lighting fills the need more freely, with a more modern attitude.
